Han's spaceAugust 20 Journey - After All These YearsI woke up late today, and ended up borrowing my housemate's car to drive to work.
Thought it was going to be a bad day, cause it rained and all, and work was rather hectic.
Well, on the way home, I heard this new song by Journey - After All These Years. And that alone made the day become SO SO SO MUCH again.
My God, I feel that this song is going to be a hit.
Beautiful.
Somehow I am always hit by these kind of 80s rocker ballads.
Judge it for yourself.
Listen to it here.
Of course. I have the lyrics here as well.
Journey - After All These Years
A faded wedding photograph
You and me in our first dance Our eyes are closed We're lost in one sweet embrace Since those days the world has changed But our love remains the same God knows we've had our share of saving grace And I'm proud of all the blessings
You have given me The mountains we have climbed to get this far You've learned to take the laughter with the tears After all these years You make it feel brand new
After the fires that we walked through Against the odds we never lost our faith In our house we've made our home
Where our children all have grown Precious moments time cannot erase Make a living up and down the gypsy highways
Seasons that we've had to share apart Somehow in my heart I always keep you near me After all these years After all these years
You stood by me The days and nights that I was gone After all these years You sacrificed, believed in me And you stood strong Cause with our love there's nothing left to fear After all these years After all these years
You stood by me The days and nights that I was gone After all these years You've sacrificed, believed in me And you stood strong Cause with our love there's nothing left to fear After all these years Apparently, the group released a new album called Revelation.

Han Beijing Olympics 2008 - Men's Badminton SinglesSunday, 17th August, 2008.
Malaysia lost their best chance to win their first ever Olympic Gold Medal.
The only hope came from Lee Chong Wei, 26, for Men's Badminton Singles.
The World number one, Lin Dan, faces World Number two, Lee Chong Wei in the Beijing 2008 Olympics badminton finals.
Lee, lost 2 straight sets to Lin. Lin proving to be far superior than Lee, winning the first set by 21-12, and the second by 21-8.
Lin Dan (China)
Lee Chong Wei (Malaysia)
I watched the match as I ate dinner today, and Lin Dan was really dominating the match. His shuttle speed and form was just too superior for Lee Chong Wei to match. He really deserved the win. Lee Chong Wei made many errors throughout the match, resulting in a low score in both games. I feel that its also due to the amount pressure on his shoulders. Throughout the game, Lee has to face a strong China home crowd, cheering Lin Dan all the way. Although there were some Malaysian supporters (I heard them shouting "Lee Chong Wei" in the beginning of the game), they suddenly became quiet, after losing the first game.
Perhaps Malaysia will get a gold medal on Olympics 2012?
Who knows? I guess they'll have to try again...
With myself being a Malaysian, I'll be supporting them all the way..
Malaysia boleh!!!!!
To end this entry, congratulations to Lin Dan!

Han August 16 Jake Shimabukuro Cover - While My Guitar Gently WeepsIt's been a rather busy past 2 weeks.... But I still found some time to play my ukulele before bed time..
Here's a recording of myself playing While My Guitar Gently Weeps by Jake Shimabukuro.
This cover played by Jake, was originally by George Harrison. It has received over a million views over YouTube, and supposedly George Harrison's wife even approached Jake, to tell him how beautiful the playing was done. Check him out in YouTube. You'll be amazed...
Han August 10 Premium Sushi during Japan 2008 TripOne of the missions of going to Japan, was to try the sushi, to see if it was really as tasty as the manga 将太寿司....
The characters in the manga would go like "太好吃了!!!!" (meaning IT'S SO TASTY!!!!!) after eating some sushi made by the pro sushi chefs.
I read that manga about 2 years back, and the way the sushi were described were really exagerated, but at the same time, it made me and my friend want to eat sushi on many occasions. We even bought our own japanese rice, sushi vinegar and sushi ingredients to make our own sushi (It turned out really good).
Anyway, details on the premium sushi experience...
We woke up at 3am, visited the fish market at Tsukiji. Yang Yang said that this particular sushi place we were going was famous, and the sushi is supposed to be very fresh, as they use ingredients fresh from the fish market nearby.
It was about 4800 yen for 10 pieces of sushi. Quite a godlike price.
We queued up close to an hour outside the store, before we could go in.
This is a picture which I took from the store window.
This was my sushi chef, along with the rest.
In the beginning, we were served with a cup of hot ocha (hot green tea) and a bowl of miso soup. Following then, the first piece of sushi some mini roll. Next was toro (fatty tuna). Then came ika (cuttlefish), tamago (egg), unagi (eel), squid, uni (sea urchin, Yang Yang supposedly said that this tastes bad...). Finally came 2 types of fish looking sushi, and a last one which I cannot remember... Was probably too busy eating.
I think we were supposed to eat it in sequence, and I did just that, but left the uni till the end, due to Yang Yang's advice.
Here's a video of the "uni eating experience".
The uni didn't turn out that bad! It was rather plain tasting though... But then again, its supposed to be some premium delicacy in the sushi world. My overall comment of the sushi place? It's not bad, but I think their style of sushi needs some getting used to, as I felt that the ingredients were really fresh, but taste wise, it was kinda mild. Even the miso soup tasted different. Our taste buds are probably used to the sushi back home in Singapore and Malaysia. If you're in Japan, go try it out! To summarize it all, it was a memorable experience!
